Please read these Terms before placing an order.

1. Orders

Please check your order carefully before payment, including the frame, colour, lens options, prescription, pupillary distance (PD), other measurements and delivery details.

The total price, including any applicable delivery charge, will be shown before you place the order.

Frames and ready sunglasses are accepted upon receipt of your order and are normally dispatched within 1 working day.

Prescription lens orders follow this process:

  1. You place your order and receive an automated confirmation by email
  2. Standard prescription glasses are typically glazed, quality checked, and dispatched within 5–7 working day
  3. Complex prescriptions, varifocal, or specialist lenses may take a little longer — we will keep you informed

In the rare case that your chosen lens is not suitable for your selected frame, or if any prescription information is unclear, we will contact you before proceeding to agree a suitable alternative. We will never make a change or add a charge without your agreement.

2. Prescription Orders

Our standard online prescription service is for wearers who:

  • are aged 16 or over;
  • are not registered sight impaired or severely sight impaired; and
  • have a valid spectacle prescription issued within the previous two years by a registered optometrist or registered medical practitioner.

You must provide your prescription accurately, including the correct SPH, CYL, AXIS, ADD, prism where applicable, and + or − signs.

We may request a copy of the original prescription before manufacture or when investigating a prescription-related issue.

If any prescription information is incomplete, unclear or inconsistent, we may place the order on hold and contact you before proceeding.

3. PD and Other Measurements

You are responsible for providing accurate pupillary distance (PD) and any other measurements required for the lenses you order.

Please check all prescription and measurement information carefully before confirming your order.

Where spectacles have been correctly manufactured using inaccurate prescription or measurement information supplied by the customer, a complimentary remake or refund may not be available solely because that information was incorrect.

This does not affect your rights where Banna Eyewear or a laboratory acting on our behalf has made an error, or where the goods are faulty or incorrectly manufactured.

4. Lens and Frame Suitability

Not every lens design, material, index or treatment is suitable for every prescription or frame.

We may recommend a different lens index, material, design, treatment or frame where appropriate for optical performance, manufacturing requirements or the finished appearance.

High powers, high cylinders, prism prescriptions and other complex prescriptions may require individually surfaced or specialist lenses.

Where an alternative or additional cost is required, we will contact you before manufacture and will not proceed with an additional charge without your agreement.

If no suitable alternative can be agreed, we may cancel the affected item and refund the amount paid.

5. Varifocal, Bifocal and Office Lenses

Varifocal, bifocal and office or occupational lenses may require additional measurements or information about how the spectacles will be used.

We may contact you before manufacture where further measurements or information are required.

If the necessary information cannot be obtained reliably, we may recommend an alternative lens or cancel and refund the affected lens order.

6. Tinted, Polarised and Photochromic Lenses

Lens colours, tint shades and images displayed on our website are illustrative. The finished appearance may vary slightly according to lens material, prescription, index, coating, manufacturing process and screen display.

Photochromic and Transitions-type lenses respond to environmental conditions including UV exposure and temperature. Their speed and degree of darkening may therefore vary according to the conditions in which they are worn.

Tinted and polarised sun lenses should not be used for night driving or in other conditions where the tint restricts vision.

7. Customer-Owned Frames and Reglazing

Banna Eyewear accepts suitable customer-owned frames for reglazing.

Reglazing a previously worn frame carries an inherent risk of damage or breakage. A used frame may have age-related deterioration, material fatigue, brittleness, hidden cracks, weakened joints, previous repairs or other weaknesses which may not be visible or reasonably identifiable before the existing lenses are removed or new lenses are fitted.

By sending your own frame to Banna Eyewear for reglazing, you acknowledge and accept these inherent risks.

Banna Eyewear and the optical laboratory handling the frame will take reasonable care during inspection, handling and glazing. However, Banna Eyewear is not responsible for damage or breakage resulting from the age, previous use, deterioration, brittleness, hidden weakness, material fatigue, previous repair or pre-existing condition of the frame, or from the normal stresses involved in removing and fitting lenses, where reasonable care has been used.

Receipt of a frame does not guarantee that it can be successfully reglazed. We may decline to reglaze a frame if, after inspection or during the glazing process, it is considered unsuitable, unsafe or incompatible with the requested lenses.

You are responsible for securely packaging your frame when sending it to us. We recommend using a tracked and appropriately insured delivery service.

8. Manufacturing and Glazing

Prescription lenses are manufactured and glazed by Mayfair Vision, our appointed UK optical laboratory partner.

Standard orders are typically processed and dispatched within 5–7 working days following order confirmation. Specialist, surfaced, varifocal, high-prescription and other complex lenses may take longer.

Any manufacturing or delivery period shown on the website is an estimate unless we expressly agree a guaranteed date.

9. Prices and Payment

Prices displayed on bannaeyewear.com are Banna Eyewear retail prices and may vary according to the frame, prescription, lens design, index, coating, tint and other selected options.

The total amount payable will be shown before you place your order. If we discover an obvious pricing or configuration error after an order has been placed, we will contact you before manufacture or dispatch.

10. Product Availability

Frames, lenses, colours, coatings and treatments are subject to availability. If a product or lens option becomes unavailable after you order, we may offer a suitable alternative. We will not substitute a materially different product without your agreement. If no suitable alternative is agreed, we will cancel the affected item and refund the amount paid.

11. Changes and Cancellation of Prescription or Personalised Orders

Prescription spectacles and lenses are personalised goods manufactured to your individual specifications. The normal statutory change-of-mind cancellation right does not generally apply to personalised goods.

If you contact us before manufacture has started, we will make reasonable efforts to cancel or amend your order. Once lens manufacture, cutting, tinting, coating or glazing has started, cancellation or alteration may no longer be possible.

This does not affect your statutory rights where goods are faulty, incorrectly manufactured or not as described.

12. Frames, Ready Sunglasses and Other Non-Personalised Goods

This section applies to frames sold without glazing, ready-to-wear sunglasses (non-prescription), and other standard non-personalised goods purchased online.

Orders are accepted when placed and are typically dispatched within 1 working day of order confirmation, subject to stock availability.

You normally have 14 days from receiving the goods to tell us that you wish to cancel, and a further 14 days to return them. Unless the item is faulty or incorrectly supplied, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning it.

Items must be returned unused, in their original condition and packaging. We may make a lawful deduction from a refund where handling beyond what is reasonably necessary has reduced the product’s value.

13. Non-Prescription Lenses

Non-prescription (plano) lenses which are individually cut, glazed, tinted or coated to your requirements may also constitute personalised goods. Where this applies, the normal change-of-mind cancellation right may not apply once manufacture has begun. Your statutory rights concerning faulty or misdescribed goods are unaffected.

14. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods

Please contact us promptly if an item arrives damaged, is faulty, has been incorrectly manufactured, or is materially different from what you ordered. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected. Depending on the circumstances, the appropriate remedy may include repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.

15. Vision and Adaptation Concerns

If prescription spectacles do not provide the expected vision or cause persistent discomfort, please contact us. We may review the original prescription, PD and other measurements, lens specification, and laboratory manufacturing information. Where appropriate, we may ask you to have the prescription checked by the practitioner who issued it.

16. Delivery

Available delivery methods, charges and estimated delivery times will be shown during checkout. Where Banna Eyewear arranges delivery to you, we remain responsible for the goods until you take physical possession of them. Please contact us promptly if your order does not arrive when expected.

17. Refunds

Where a refund is due, it will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction. Refunds will be processed within the periods required by applicable consumer law.

18. Promotions and Discount Codes

Promotional offers and discount codes are subject to the conditions stated with each promotion. A promotion applying to frames does not automatically apply to prescription lenses, lens upgrades or glazing unless expressly stated. Unless otherwise stated, promotional offers cannot be combined.

19. Personal Information

We use personal information, including prescription and measurement information, where necessary to process orders, manufacture and glaze lenses, arrange payment and delivery, and provide customer support. Further information is contained in our Privacy Policy.

20. Optical and Medical Matters

Banna Eyewear operates as an eyewear retailer. We do not provide sight tests or diagnose eye conditions. Questions concerning your eye health or whether a prescription remains clinically appropriate should be addressed to a registered optometrist or registered medical practitioner.

21. Complaints

If you have a question or complaint, please contact:
